Swifties, we’re happy (so happy) to report that Taylor Swift’s long-awaited live stream did NOT disappoint! Yes, the 24-year-old has been teasing her Yahoo live stream for what seemed like forever to us, and we’re finally gonna break down not one, not two, but FIVE secrets she revealed during the 30-minute event, just in case you weren’t able to check it out.
First, Taylor released a brand new single and was in fact titled “Shake It Off” like the rumors last week had suggested annnnnnd…we’re just gonna go ahead and say this will be the biggest song of the year. This is fun, it’s poppy, and I promise you that it is going to be stuck in your head for…ever. And also, there also happens to be a great message behind it the catchy tune – and it’s to not let people get you down! The big reveal was made even more adorable when Taylor had an impromptu dance party with the live audience. So adorbs.
OK, so the next big reveal has to do with Taylor’s UPCOMING ALBUM! Ye[, as Taylor spoke to the crowd she revealed that 80’s pop had a big influence on her while she was recording over the past two years, and since she was born in the last year of the 80’s decade she decided to title her album…1989! And she also revealed the album cover and it’s retro, and vintage, and it’s a real polaroid people!!
Moving along to the third big reveal, Taylor announced that 1989 will drop on…OCTOBER 27! That’s right around the corner yall!!So, go ahead and mark your calendars. Also, if you don’t want to forget, go ahead over to Taylor Swift.com where you can already preorder it!!
And while we’re on the subject of her new album, she also broke the news that this album will basically be her first FULL POP album. So, if you’re a fan of her country stuff, we hate to be the bearer of bad news but you won’t hear any country tracks this time around. Which is kinda bummer for me because I loved her country stuff, but I have a feeling Taylor is going to make up for it in poppy epicness
And last but CERTAINLY not least was Taylor Swift 5th unveiling…. the music video for “Shake It Off”! She sort of pulled a Beyonce onus with this one – instead of announcing the single then doing a lyric video, then a teaser for the teaser, then a full teaser, yadda yadda yadda, Taylor just went ahead and dropped the music video, right there, during the live stream. And we’re completely obsessed. It features Taylor thrown into the mix with a number of professional dancers, and instead of sticking to the choreography, she lets her impromptu dancing skills take over. She changed costumes several times and appeared not only as a ballerina, she was also a ribbon dancer, a fly girl, and SO many more.
