"Hollow Sunday" music by Mat Clark, sung by Chad Parks - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jan 09, 2008
DESCRIPTION:
This video was shot in the Chatsworth, California mountains; a stone's throw in one direction from the Manson Family's Box Canyon ranch, and in the other direction, the place where they filmed "Bonanza!" It seemed the perfect setting for a collaboration between Mat Clark, an East London guitar player/songwriter in the rock/post-punk band, the Sexy Butchers; and Chad Parks of Chad Parks and the Near Death Experience who's voice has drawn comments that he might be "the love-child of Nina Simone and Johnny Cash", or "a choir of the oldest men alive". In any event, Mat's lyrics and composition, matched with Chad's baritone, a bottle of Jack, a ceaseless wind and the full moon seemed to bring this song alive.

Lyrics (by Mat Clark):
So you want me to test you?
Have I said too much?
You're too caught up in the mirror.
Have I said too much?
Chorus:
(We spat on your grave and we promised that never again...
To be left behind with a knife and a rope and a prayer.
I talk to myself, all the good that it does, I don't care.
But I promise myself that the knife and the rope, bring it in.)
Have you come down to forgive me?
Or have I just spoke too soon?
The wind brings change and a fever.
Have you seen enough?
(Repeat Chorus)
