Casa de Chihuahua is a hard driving soul thriving jug band for the jugular from the mountains of Virginia and the scummy streets of New York City. Combining all they've learned and forgotten from the two opposing scenes, they've worked hard to bring together the different aspects of the mind to entertain everyone that comes across the fountain of notes and vocal harmonies that spew and ooze in the form of oak trees, skyscrapers, mountains, madmen on street corners, dogwood petals, freight trains, subway stares and heartbeats. Led by the song writing team of Zack Orion(Vocals, Guitar, Suitcasebassdrum, Foot-washboard, Harmonica) and Morgan O'Kane(Banjo, Vocals), the band started playing in 2006 in dark late night scenes in Brooklyn, attempting to conjure hills and valleys full of chestnut trees and wild happy animals from another era. Their banshee howls and whikeyfied danceable mayhem attracted the attention of washtub bass virtuoso Matthew "Pigpen" Robinson and the trio hasn't stopped playing since. Their current touring lineup includes the sweet fiery fiddle of Ferd 4 of the Hackensaw Boys and the ever promised surprise of various gorgeous tattooed sirens. If you're east of the Mississipi(save Monroe, La) we'll see you this summer somewhere.
