DESCRIPTION:
Captain Beyond recorded the song ''Icarus'' early 1972, with the original line-up (incl keyboardist Lewie Gold), however it was never released. The song was supposed to be the opening song of the 1st album but keyboardist (and writer of the song) Lewie Gold left the band right before recording the 1st album. So the song was never recorded/released. In 1977 they re-recorded the song on the LP ''Dawn Explosion'' with a different line-up and a different arrangement.
This original version, recorded in Rhino's basement early 1972, is very much in the style of Capt Beyonds legendary first album, and would've fitted perfectly. Amazing song!
