DESCRIPTION: Burma photos from the collection of Pok Chi Lau. At a rare appearance in San Francisco for the Chinese Historical Society of America (CHSA), documentary photographer of global Chinese diaspora, Pok Chi Lau, makes a brief stop to meet with old friends and local photographers before heading off to Taiwan, Hong Kong and Burma. He is traveling to promote his film, CUBAN CHINESE. It is a brief visual history of Chinese in Cuba, featuring Coridad Amarand who performed Cantonese opera professionally in Chinese communities throughout Cuba from 1942 - 1958. Film screening of CUBAN CHINESE held at the Chinese Historical Society of America (CHSA) in San Francisco Chinatown on 965 Clay Street on February 8, 2014.
