Border Crossing have recently completed 'Starlines and Stellagrams', their new album. This work shifts the focus back to the deejays as it is wholly instrumental. In typical Border Crossing fashion it is a journey through a variety of different musical styles but it goes further than they've gone before. There are elements of Jazz, Electro, and Middle Eastern music woven into a soundtrack that still holds Hip Hop, Soul and Reggae close to its heart. Followers of B.C. will notice a greater maturity and depth to the work.

There were a number of collaborators in the project that have made it as strong as it is. Sacha Puttnam, an experienced film composer, has provided beautiful string arrangements along with many fine examples of keyboard playing. There are a number of talented musicians who have also graced the album. These include:- Bass, Jean Marie Brichard (Leon), guitar, Nick Rundall and Nick Bishop, trumpet, Jon Scott, Saxophones, flute, Heather Hoyle, and drums, Tim Boxley. The drum programming styles that typify Border Crossing are prevalent on the record and some new beat styles have emerged. 'The Lookout' (Ollie Bishop) has grown in stature in the group through the process of making the record. As a member of the team many of his writing ideas formed the basis for a number of the tracks on 'Starlines and Stellagrams'.

The work was meticulously produced by Border Crossing but was given a dynamic new sound in the mix by Nick Rundall (Noise Deli). Nick's experience in production, composition and engineering made him the ideal candidate to complete this vital last stage in the completion of the album. The overall feel to the work is one of open heartedness and rich variety.

Border Crossing would like to thank all the people who have offered support along the journey up until now. They would also like to say a big 'Hello' to Fat Jon (the ample soul physician). Border Crossing have embarked on a collaborative project with this true innovator. The work still has a little way to go, but should also be completed soon.
