Ricky Ranking

Ricky Rankin cut his teeth in the late 70’s performing on the legendary sound systems of King Tubby, Killer Watt and Dynatone. Ten years on and the likes of Stereograph, Exodus and Youth Man Promotion were still championing his sound.

His shift in to production was the obvious next step and a collaboration with Saxon and Ghetto Tone resulted in the massive dancehall smash, ”Rocking the Dance” produced by Stereographs.

“Chubba” and Choice FM’s “Commander B”.

Following this success, Ricky’s next project, “I Can’t Get Enough Love” went straight in at No.2 in the UK reggae chart, holding this position for six consecutive weeks.



As a result he has spent the rest of his time working and performing with such greats as , Maxi Priest and more recently Earl Sixteen, Horace Andy and Rodney Smith AKA Roots Manuva,

It has been Ricky’s work with Roots Manuva which has seen him record on the widely acclaimed 2005 album “Awfully Deep”, as well as stepping out on tour with him as a supporting MC.
