PUTREFIED

PUTREFIED was formed by Edwin (guitars, ex-GUTWRENCH, ex-PENTACLE) and Toep (drums, CONSOLATION) at the end of 1998. Both had the urge to create midpaced, downtuned and sick Death Metal, in the vein of several US-Death Metal bands. At the beginning we played under the name of SKULLDUSK, but decided to change that name after we'd quit with our first bassplayer. We started to place some adds for both a bassplayer and a vocalist.
After a few auditions, Marcel joined as a vocalist, shortly followed by Pascal on bass. This all happened in the winter of 1999, when PUTREFIED as a band became a fact, and we started to head for our one goal: to make fucking brutal Death Metal! Edwin and Toep had already composed eight tracks, so we were ready to do gigs from the very start. October 2000 saw the departure of bassplayer Pascal, due to several reasons not to mention here. Luckily a replacement was found soon, in the person of Rein, who'd also played with several other Death Metal outfits. We started to rehearse as hell, to record our debut "Bodybits" at the end of December 2000.
In July 2001 Edwin left the band because of a move to Germany, so again the other Putrefied members had to look for a new guitar player. In august they found a new guitar player in the person of Michael Blokker.
Urging for a more brutal sound we checked on Dennis Hartog for our second guitarist, he played in the legendary L.W.S, a thrashband crushing stages in the early 90's
We embraced him as a newly born Putre-corpse after his first audition!!
He brought some chances in the band, and more important; our music!



So Sevared records releashed "The putrid remains" soon after Dennis joined!
In the meanwile we crushed the dutch clubscene !
Months later we recieved the message that Sevared rec. sold all their Putrefied "Bodybits"and "The putrid remains" cd's! So they asked us if they could re-release the "Bodybits" and "Putrid remains" albums, all combined on one album.
We agreed, but.made a deal to record a live show for the re-release also
The "Live, Plugged and Crushing" cd was born
Containing our Bodybits Mcd, The putrid remains CD and a complete live set, recorded by Dennis Yak, also know from Consolation/Unlord and Nembrionic!!



Late 2004 we did a couple of gigs in Germany,Czech republik and Slovakia and
also played on several festivals in Holland, things started to head up our wayon stage that is!!!
Still we made time to record a 3-track promo, just to impress some bigger labels in Europe.
A good thing considering that after sending the promo to our contacts we were invited to join Krisiun on their european ASSASSINATION tour march 2006!
We played Swiss, France, Spain and England in a few weeks!
More great gigs followed like Obscene Extreme fest in Czech and lots of venues in holland
After releasing Gore-ific in 2007, things became difficult.
Marcel quit the band, and Dennis,Toep started a prog-metal band, GodmodeToep also played in Supreme Pain for a couple of years



March 2011.
We all agreed to hit the rehearsel studio, to see if the fire still burns inside.
Putrefied is back again!!!!
