So who is this guy anyways?

My Baby Blu logo speaks pretty much for itself; a mic in one hand and a pen in the other. That's how I get down. I write, rap, and host my hip hop show 6 days a week called Downtown Boogie on Swizterland's biggest fm radio station (www.couleur3.ch) since over 10 years. I've had the privilege to interview people I love and respect.basically, everyone from Ice Cube to Grandmaster Flash, from Public Enemy to Nas, from Afrika Bambaataa to Lovebug Starsky, from Cypress Hill to Fat Joe and The Game, from Wu-Tang to G-Unit, Wyclef, D'Angelo, Erykah Badu, Mos Def, Redman, Xzibit, Common and the list goes on and on.

yeah, that's right, you can call me the Swiss Larry King of Hip Hop. I was born on the 4th of july 1973 in Basel. I grew up in the Bay Area representin' the 415/ 868 before moving to Lausanne in the early 90s. Growing up as a kid, I was always around good music. My parents listened to the Genesis, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Velvet Underground, Led Zepplin, The Talking Heads, The Police and Pink Floyd among others. I still remember the first vinyl I ever bought in my life .I was like 7 years old with this huge crush on this punk roomate chick.and yes, it was the Sex Pistols never mind the bullocks album.

My first stage appearance came when I was 10 years old with my group called The Crowbar Bolts.I still remember those first rhymes too; "there's a bomb in my sock it makes it hard to talk/ theres a bomb in my burger it makes it hard to talk/ the flowers are fading at the thought of radiation/ I don't want my life to end in frustration/ I dont feel like Ice Cream,

I dont feel like Health food/ I don't feel like anything that possibly could taste good." that was some funny sh*t right there.check out the pic on the left.we were just some hippie kids growing up in Bolinas resisting Reaganomics

I also remember roller skating to the sounds of Parliament, Rick James, Bambaataa's Planet Rock, Whodini, Newcleus, in the Golden Gate Park in SF with the OGs and their ghetto blasters. That's basically when Hip Hop came and hypnotised my soul forever and then came my 1st pair of fat laces.I mean, who didn't wanna be Lee from Beat Street anyways?

After many years of crafting my rhyming skills; listening to Run DMC, pretending to be The Beastie Boys in front of my mirror, studying Rakim, wishing I was in NWA, paying my dues in community centers, rapping in front of liquor stores and battlin' MCs in freestyle ciphers, I finally went on to perform as a supporting act for NTM, IAM and Naughty by Nature with Le Xtra Bass System in the early 90s.

I then went solo, opened up for the Alkaholiks and Group Home, was featured on Double Pact's 1st album "Pour ma planète Bleue", before forming my own group called La Hana Club in 1997. Together, we co-produced an underground classic swiss-french rap album called "Les Frontières Brisées" in 1999 with Kobra.

As an artist, I've rocked mics at every Swiss venue possible, including Paléo and of course the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival that I rock every year with the Boogie Squad. It's with the same Boogie Squad that I've shared stages with legendary artists such as Nas, Erick Sermon, De La Soul, M.O.P, Large Professor, Camp Lo, Jeru Da Damaja, Afu-Ra, Booba, Kool Savaz, Afrob, Samy Deluxe during hip hop festivals and other major events throughout my career.

But don't get it twisted, this vocalist doesn't just rap and host hip hop events. I was an A&R for Ledge Records for over 3 years, I produced the InVinczible album with Vincz Lee. I've also written articles for music magazines, I've been a juge in the M4 Music Awards Demotape Clinic "urban" category 6 years in a row, I've produced a short movie, written screenplays, produce videos and occasionally I interview people for Swiss National TV. Not bad, Ah? I gotta admit, I love what I doSpeaking of TV, I also produced a pilot? That's right, I created and produced a Hip Hop Game Show called THE BIG PAYBACK, finally, an edutainement program that represents our beautiful urban culturecheck out the teaser below
