The two founding and songwriting members of the Blue King Brown, Carlo Santone and Natalie Pa'apa'a, commenced playing and writing together using just a guitar and jamming with residents and itinerants alike in their original base of the Australian seaside locale of Byron Bay. They originally performed as a percussion duo and also with a band called Skin which became the beginnings of Blue King Brown.

This beats driven collaboration formed many connections within the Australian roots scene and they were invited to sit in as percussionists with The John Butler Trio at many of their shows, along with many other guest performances with a number of local and international touring artists over the years.

After moving to Melbourne in 2004 and success came quickly for the band, with their debut single, "Water", being added to Australia's largest national youth broadcaster, Triple J, as well as earning several nominations for independent awards.

Blue King Brown backed up their first EP release with a debut album entitled Stand Up, independently released in 2006 through their own label, Roots Level Records, Late in 2010 the band followed up with the full length, Worldwize, to great review, including 4 out of 5 stars from Rolling Stone Magazine.

Having opened for the likes of Santana,
Michael Franti & Spearhead,
 Damian "Jr Gong" Marley,
 The John Butler Trio
and Cody Chesnutt, the band has also toured extensively throughout Canada, Europe and North America taking in festivals and shows throughout, including sell out shows in London. The band is back on the road, heading to Canada for Canadian Music Week and Austin for a slew of dates at SXSW, before heading to Europe.

Dedicated to the movement, with hard hitting lyrics and groove, socially aware and active, Blue King Brown is a band that walks their talk on many social issues and are known for actively speaking out.
