The Fidotrust Records compilation CD "Trust Us: a Long Beach comp" is out now! (released 4-15-08)

The 1st song on the comp is a previously unreleased song by BlowUpBlow.

This is not your average compilation CD; They really went all out on the packaging--very nice, with a thick booklet (featuring artwork & photos from every band on the disc), slip cover, and space-age flip-out cd ejector case!

Oh, yes and tons of great bands/songs on here -- very impressive!

Pick one at your local record store, or order online at Fidotrust.com.

The latest BlowUpBlow 12" vinyl single/CD SUPERTONIGHT was released Jan. 30th, 2007. Full length song on one side, dance remix on the other. Inside the record sleeve, you'll find a CD containing both versions of the song, plus 2 songs from Sunshine on the Front Line. Both available to order online here[Photo by Barri York Hoover]The Long Beach, CA-based band BlowUpBlow was formed in 2003 and features former members of Action League, Fuselage, Wa$h / current members of Free Moral Agents & the Bolides, among others.

Critics and fans have drawn a variety of comparisons and descriptions, yet consistantly admit to experiencing difficulty in pinpointing the sound of the band. This is a reflection of the disparate influences of BlowUpBlow's individual and collective members. The band has described it's music as paranoid, moody, progressive garage rock, yet they released a 12" vinyl dance single in January '07.

Unfortunately, the band broke up in May 2008.

They were cited in the OC Weekly as one of the 10 best bands to watch out for in 2004. "The rhythm alone could get you to drool—you'll lose yourself in the musical candyland that these dudes create. Everything done perfect."- LA Record"An all-star Long Beach lineup playing at peak potential, BlowUpBlow.tap out immaculately calculated post-punk that peels Krautrock hum into a Burma/Ubu ramjet.they don’t push out a sound so much as an atmosphere, a jittery, thick-as-cough-syrup prog-jam-fogbank as hypnotic and urgent as the blip on a heart monitor."

- OC Weekly

"Owens and Kurthy are a rhythm section whose fossil footprints will be found in nuclear mud a million years from now."

- Chris Ziegler, The District Weekly

"They are the loud saviors of Long Beach, and they will show you what real energy sounds like."

- Valdas Karalis, Long Beach Magazine

"It’s weird: the guitars drop into the songs from outer space, tumbling from effects-pedal overdressing (close your eyes and stand by a speaker, and you’d think they had a keyboard in there) to naked one-string bellringing, and it all sort of hovers over the rhythm section, a pushy everything-at-once sound that gets your attention quick."

Their 7-song CD Sunshine on the Front Line [self-released] is now available, along with a vinyl 7" of Promise / Final Mistake [SoftMachine Records].[click here to go order BlowUpBlow releases & merchandise online]
