The Blitzkrieg Boys was formed in 1985, when Marty B. got an idea to form a band, a band that would be a mixture of The Ramones, The Cockney Rejects and The Misfits. Soon he found right guys to play this kind of music.
They made few gigs and modest demo tapes, but nothing was happening. They even tried to get into a national band contest by the name of SM-rock, but Blitzkrieg Boys were too minimalistic and primitive for them. The record companies seemed to think the same until Jeki and his Raktor Records came along.
So, first EP (500 copies) came out 88. So they had a record but nothing much seemed to happen -few concerts and some interviews.
In the beginning of 89 they went to a studio in order to make a tape for an LP even though no publisher was in sight. But soon a bloke (Rudiger Thomas, Teenage Rebel Records) from Germany contacted. He wanted to do record with Blitzkrieg Boys
The LP Back from Nowhere came out in December 89 (1000 copies, 225 in orange vinyl and the rest black) as well as the reissue of the EP. Germans also arranged a 15-concert tour for Blitzkrieg Boys with a German band called the Shaddox. The tour started in January. Only six gigs were made in Germany and in Holland.
Soon after the tour band split up. In 1995 Teenage Rebel Records released Back From Nowhere CD. Blitzkrieg Boys made a modest comeback during '95-97. And after one comeback gig they split up once again.
And maybe because there was a lot of old songs left Marty also got an idea of the third coming of The Blitzkrieg Boys. Well they found the right players and things started to happen in 2005. Marty had heard of a Ramones orientated record label called Woimasointu and so he informed Hannu (the leader of the company) about the comeback and what do you know -he seemed to have faith in BB and as Marty came up with the idea of a 20th anniversary album Woimasointu said yes.
So 20th anniversary album came out at end of 2006. Band made few gigs in Finland, and reviews were good. Soon they found out that there are still old fans in Germany. And in march 2007 come back tour to germany was about to begin.
Everything went just fine and everybody was happy.
In 2008 there will brand new B-boys stuff comin' out, and tours to Germany and Spain are about come soon.
