The Mugwumps are a three- piece Punkrock outfit hailing from some stupid, boring, Backwood Valley in Tyrol/ Austria. After knowing each other and being friends since years, they started the Band back in 2002 out of addiction to Punkrock and RocknRoll music and not at least because there is nothing better to do at place flooded by annoying tourists and local geeks. They played their first Show on Halloween 2002, shared the stage with Bands like The Queers, Teenage Bottlerocket, The Manges, The Reekys, Retarded, The Apers, The Minds,and since today, they played regularly and quite a lot of Concerts, mostly in the Austrian Area. All the three Individuals who play their skinny Asses off in the Mugwumps dig Bands like Ramones, Head, Riverdales, Wanna-Bes,.like Comics, old Spy- , Spaghetti Western- , Mafia- and War- movies, dry-wry humour, hanging out, and of course your sister. What they dislike?Yeah, mostly the rest.
After going through some injury breaks, the Band recorded their first Songs in July 2004, handled the result somehow like a Demo and got reviews that they are sounding like a mix of early Retarded, Riverdales or some Queers stuff.
In early 2006 The Mugwumps released their first 7'' called ".slit your tire" on Varmint Records and theyre hot to play as many Live Shows as possible. So if you want those Kids to play your town, feel free to contact them and the way I know them, Im pretty sure that they wont demand that much except people who care and share the same passion and spirit that makes Punkrock that phenomenal.
