Pokemon Black/White Music- Village Bridge (with Buildup) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 17, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Like with the Badge Check Gates & Victory Road, I didn't find any smooth buildups of the Village Bridge theme from Pokemon Black/White on Youtube, so I decided to make one. I think this turned out fairly well.

The Village Bridge theme is probably my most favorite song from BW. The first time I ran into the area and started talking to everyone was while I was in the car with my family as we were arriving in Disney World this past summer. When I talked the Koontz the singer and heard him start yodeling this enka gibberish, I laughed and excitedly showed it to my brother beside me. He was visibly amused, but not as much as me. x3

I told my guyfriend about the song later, and he made it known to me that what I thought was enka sounds gibberish is actually Japanese lyrics, and the true name of the song is "Tasogare Oyaji", or "Geezer in the Dusk". After I looked up the lyrics, my fascination for this song was set in stone. I'm still impressed that Gamefreak managed to create something completely different like this, put it in a Pokemon game, and strangely not have it seem out of place.

It's the little surprises like this theme that made BW such an engaging game to play. I love seeing all the ways in which they improve the Pokemon games year by year, and that's one of the reasons I've played every game since Red/Blue when I was a kid.

Apologies for the audio becoming a little echo-y near the end of the first loop. By the time I reached that point in the song I had 3 audio tracks stacked on top of each other, so the base melody was playing three times at once. Hey, that's how I mix in Audacity.
