DESCRIPTION:
Brooklyn pianist composer Brittany Anjou performs "Olive You" with her jazz trio, drummer Ben Perowsky and bassist Ari Folman-Cohen. "Olive You" is a play on the jazz standard titled "All of You", and is the fourth movement of Anjou's Reciprokataj Suite, from her album Enamiĝo Reciprokataj (Origin Records). The title translates from Esperanto to "falling in love reciprocated" and refers to Anjou's idea of group improvisation.

Brittany Anjou is a Brooklyn based composer, vocalist, and piano focused multi-instrumentalist. Channeling Duke Ellington to Bikini Kill in her repertoire, this creative, versatile, and virtuoso performer hails from Seattle, who is one of a few to record and tour with godmothers of punk, The Shaggs. When she isn't playing original jazz, she fronts death metal band Bi TYRANT between snowboarding seasons, and works as a freelance composer, session musician, educator, headliner, and support performer.
