TEDxWaterloo - Laurie Wonfor Nolan - Painter of Live Music - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 07, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
A visual artist, Laurie had her first large scale 'plein aire' show in Toronto in December of 1999. Currently she is represented by galleries in Toronto, Ottawa and Bracebridge, and her work is featured internationally in many private and corporate collections. The 'in the moment' and honest approach to her still life and landscape paintings made live performance painting the next evolutionary step for her as an artist. Working with the idea that there is a direct co-relation between music, visual art, and the audience, Laurie attempts to paint a visual response to the energy of the event captured in real time.
She has shared the stage with notable musicians Liala Biali, Brandi Desterheft, Kris Roe and rockabilly band Mr. Rick and the Biscuits among others.
At the Cambridge Centre for the Arts, Laurie developed her now popular 'Fearless Painting' workshops. They empower people to tap into their creativity in a risk free supportive environment.
