Saalik Ziyad and Friends covered "Caravan" LIVE on stage at Fred Anderson's VELVET LOUNGE, 67 E. Cermak, Chicago, IL.

The first version of Caravan was recorded on December 19, 1936 and performed by Barney Bigard And His Jazzopators in Hollywood. Two takes were recorded, of which the first (Variety VA-515-1) was published. It is noteworthy that on the Barney Bigard 78 recording, the composer of the song is listed on the record label as "Juan Tizol".

In THIS VIDEO the performers are: Clif Wallace on drums, Nathan "Nate" Brown on double bass, Ross Margitza on keys, Shaun Johnson on trumpet/flugelhorn, Aum Mu Ra El on guitar and composer/arranger of THIS "Caravan", Saalik Ziyad (vocalist).
