ATOM STRANGE's sound is the direct result of the effects of cosmic radiation, dark matter and energy and the bending of space and time. A refreshing and welcome new sound to the rock world that somehow captures something familiar and accessible while still sounding unique.



Atom Strange is led by lead vocalist Rick Dunn and lead guitarist Alex Rude with John Reed on bass and Tony Baptist on drums.

After two years of writing and recording and a few line up changes, the first cohesive line up took shape with: Alex Rude (Guitars), Rick Dunn (Vocals) John Reed (Bass) and Tony Baptist (Drums). The band is about to release their second cd "Cosmic Disturbance" in March 2010. They have toured all over the east coast during the summer of '09 opening for the likes of KING's X and LA Guns and look forward to hitting every other city and town in America and beyond with their high energy show!



Atom Strange began in the winter of 2006 when guitarist Alex Rude was working part time for a friend at a high end comic book shop in Manhattan. Rude came across a copy of DC Comics Showcase 117. It was the debut of the space faring character Adam Strange. With a tattoo of an atom on his arm and his life long fascination with the world of sci fi and outer space, Atom Strange was born! There have been comparisons to such notable musicians as Led Zeppelin, TOOL, Alice In Chains, A Perfect Circle, Pinback, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Soundgarden and other unique rock bands. ATOM STRANGE tends to stay away from the predictable and always come up with surprises in their music. Lots of dynamics and interesting changes. That and a healthy dose of science fiction mixed with everyday life and great hooks are the main ingredients to ATOM STRANGE music.



Discography

ATOM STRANGE Sophomore album ‘COSMIC DISTURBANCE’ is scheduled for release in March 2010.
