Chet Atkins,Arthur Smith and Tommy Emmanuel,1999- The RAREST version of Guitar Boogie? - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 23, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
Well...this definitely isn't the best filmed or played version. It suffers from bad camera work, poor audio, audience members blocking the shot , and me having a coffing fit during the performance! I normally wouldn't put something of this quality out ,but it does have something ... HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE!! In this video Chet Atkins Introduces Arthur Smith, the man who wrote and recorded the song Guitar Boogie in the mid 1940's, to Tommy Emmanuel. Chet sits down between the two to listen to this once in a lifetime jam - the "old wave" meets the new. As a side note not only did Arthur Smith write Guitar Boogie, in the 1950's he co- wrote the song that would come to be known as "Dueling Banjos" and be made famous in the film Deliverance. Poor camera work, bad audio, maybe I shouldn't feel too embarrassed. I guess it's no different than eighty five percent of the videos on You Tube... the only difference is this has enough historical importance that it deserves to be seen!
