So this is a thing, a Hot Beef demo. I thought this Mark Winter solo-project only existed within the plastic confines of the Cool Bands 3 compilation tape. Nope, apparently Hot Beef had its own demo release back in 2014-ish. And boy, is it somethin' fierce.

The first six titled tracks are similar to what y'all witnessed in Hot Beef's appearence in Cool Bands; stupidly-fast nonsensical punk with some gutteral looney on vocals, with most tracks blowin' right past you before you've even had a lick of an opportunity to digest it. It's fuckin' fantastic. However, after track six, the tape takes a wild turn off a damn cliff, starting with an untitled track composed of some bass-driven nonsense, beautifully falling to shambles beyond that point; within good taste, obviously. It essentially becomes a demo within a demo, with two earlier and scuffed renditions of "Frat House?" and "Piercin Pearson" taking place, along with two instrumental tracks. The tape bids everyone adieu with a tight cover of "Christian Rat Attack" by Stickmen with Rayguns, and I couldn't have asked for a better finale. This tape is fuckin' amazing and I feel like an idiot for letting this stay under my radar for so long. Liss'in and spazz out.
