But I'm Just Sayin' - Video

DESCRIPTION:
Just to clarify the storyline if you will allow me to...

I want to share something with you and the viewers regarding the video and the storyline. In the process of creating something's get left on the cutting/editing room floor. Although some have perceived the story to be that of a secret lover/down low story that is not what the intention/story is about.

The story was originally written to show two guys meeting and being introduced by "Derrick's, (character played by J.R. Rolley), best friend Tasha (character played by Krisha Marcano's). It was played up a little to appear that the couple might be romantically linked only to discover later in the video that THE MAN AND THE WOMAN IN THE MUSEUM are JUST FRIENDS ;-). There was a segment of the video that showed Tasha introducing Derrick to Tony (me) but it was decided to remove that portion of the video. It would not be a part of the final presentation.
What director, Christopher Leo Daniels did with the story is he reshaped the story line so that the tormented songwriter is shown at the top of the video working on a song but drifts off into his own mind...daydreaming/remembering...having a fantasy about finding a love to call his own. So once you see the museum sequence at the top of the video what occurs here is the songwriter is now inspired to write a song about his fantasy. The songwriter then begins to pen the song "But I'm Just Sayin' "
After completing writing the song the songwriter drifts back off into his fantasy and imagines kissing his object of affection. He imagines what it's like "to love;" To have the courage to be vulnerable to take the chance "to love." Then we share photos of real life couples most of whom are friends of mine.
While I know that secret lovers exist and there are gay man in this society still on the down low that NEVER was my intention to present that story. We wanted to move the narrative forward as we've seen the down low/secret lover storyline ...enough by now. Some have perceived the video that way while some others wrote to me and said "I love the fantasy/dream museum section of the video."
Okay...sorry for the long winded comment but "I" really feel the need to address and clarify what really is going on in the story line. We may get to really clear it up in part 2 (another music video coming soon...stay tuned).

Thanks to all who have viewed, shared, liked, and gave encouraging commentary. We appreciate it!
