Anyone who sees accordionist Anne Niepold at work with the Knopf Quartet, Deux Accords Diront or La Rosa Enflorese knows at once that they are listening to a peerless musical personality. After discovering the accordion at the age of 13, Anne studied, among others, with Bruno le Tron, Didier Laloy, Norbert Pignol, Stéphane Milleret and Philippe Thuriot. With time, she moved away from the world of traditional music and developed an interest in improvized music and jazz. In this way she turned to studying composition and jazz orchestration with Kris Defoort at the Royal Brussels Conservatoire., where she obtained her master's degree and won the prestigious "Toots Thielemans Jazz Award". Indeed, Folkforum described her as the "Toots Thielemans of the diatonic squeezebox." Recently Anne has resolutely chosen absolute freedom with a solo CD and solo performances: the freedom to follow her own path and travel through a varied musical landscape wherein dwell both Bach and Nirvana, along with compositions from her own hand...

Anne Niepold découvre l'accordéon à l'âge de 13 ans. Elle suivra de nombreux stages, notamment avec Bruno le Tron, Didier Laloy, Norbert Pignol, Stéphane Milleret ou encore Philippe Thuriot. Au fil des années, Anne quitte le monde des musiques traditionnelles et découvre son intérêt pour les musiques improvisées et le Jazz. C'est ainsi qu'elle s'orientera vers des études de composition et d'arrangement Jazz avec Kris Defoort au Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. En 2008, elle y obtient son diplôme Master et remporte le prestigieux « Toots Thielemans Jazz Award ».
