DESCRIPTION:
Here at Tony Records we are proud to present our newest single 'Quimbara'. The Quimbara Project came to life through the collaboration of Italian DJ Luisito Carriòn, Tony Vega, Pedro Brull, Nino Segarra, Pedro Arroyo and more recently with famous Italian rock star, Zucchero Fornaciari. On this project, dedicated in memory of Celia Cruz and her musical legacy, we present Cuban singer and instrumentalist, Virginia Quesada. Virginia is a graduate of the Conservatory of Havana and one of the most talented voices of Latin music today. She has also been a part of many recordings and collaborations with artists like: José Alberto 'El Canario', Cheo Feliciano, Tito Nieves, Willy Chirino, Andy Montañez, Jimmy Bosch, Nino Segarra, Ray Sepulveda, Giovanni Hidalgo, Frankie Morales, Gabry Ponte and many others. The joint effort of Citarella, Román, and Virginia has created an explosive musical cocktail filled with an array of live studio musicians and remixes, perfect for any summer party at the club or on the beach. The Original mix by Citarella has a live samba feel and takes you to the shores of Cuba with its soaring live horns and live Latin percussions. The Gigi Testa & Felix Combo’s hype remix features Afro-Latin drums, booming bass, and a killer organ solo. Next up is New York DJ/Producer Franke Estevez’s laid back remix showcasing trancy strings intertwined with a cool and collected rhythmic groove not to mention a truly psychedelic solo. The Emanuele Esposito Remix has taken Havana to Ibiza with its hype tribal drums and tech sound. Last but not least, Citarella teamed up with Joe Doppio to complete this awesome remix package with a stripped down drum vocal mix of this Latin jewel.
