Drummer Allison Miller and I have had a special musical chemistry from the first time we played together 12 years ago. This concert at the Stone was a our first duo concert, ever, though we’ve played now for the past few years in her band, Boom Tic Boom.

Allison is such a great listener and a powerful player. But it’s the energetic hook-up that I love the most—like throwing a spark in a pile of tinder—the whole place goes up in flames!

In this video, we're playing my composition, "Piano Music". It was originally written for solo piano, and is based on a drawing by my late friend, visual artist Don Reich. It's a vibrant mash-up of colors and shapes that practically jump off the wall.

During late March of this year, I performed a 12-show retrospective at The Stone in NYC, which gave me a chance to revisit many of my projects from the past 25 years.
