Julie Wolf is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, teacher and touring musician. She has appeared on stages around the world and on numerous critically acclaimed recordings. She has collaborated Maceo Parker, Ani DiFranco, Indigo Girls, Bruce Cockburn, Amy Ray and Sia, among many others. She lives in Oakland, California and runs Sonic Wolf Productions, a music house specializing in composing for film and other media, sound design, music editing and record producing. Most recently, her original music for the 2009 documentary Sweet Crude was nominated for Best Original Score at the Maverick Movie Awards and received special mention in Variety. Currently, Julie has joined forces with Berkeley Repertory Theatre as Music Director for the 2010 world premiere of Girlfriend, a musical written by Todd Almond and directed by Les Waters, featuring music by Matthew Sweet.

On her solo album, Walk the Worn Out Floor, Julie steps forward with something spare and intimate, bringing the beauty of her piano playing and singing to the foreground with jazz standards and originals. She is joined throughout by some friends who truly compliment the intimacy that she creates, including Hans Teuber on saxophone and flute, Jami Sieber on electric cello and vocals, Laura Love and her sister Kate Wolf on vocals.
