PRESENTED BY LAMA-SEA DEAR
BROUGHT TO YOU IN ASSOCIATION WITH STUDIO LOUNGE | THE LIVE ENTERTAINMENT VENUE FOR TOTNES

"I command you to wake up! I command you to open your eyes!" Adam Isaac's voice urges in the opening seconds of 'See the Light', a dynamic, riff- laden song from his recently recorded 4 track EP. Embracing elements of Rock, Funk, Dance and Pop, Adam's music has inspired a loyal fan base in the South West, and looks set to propel him towards commanding ever larger audiences in the near future.

In 2012 Adam made it to the last 16 of BBC1's The Voice UK, working with the legend Sir Tom Jones and singing to millions of people on prime time Saturday night TV. This exposure has broadened his fan-base dramatically and has triggered plans to release new music and book further tour dates. Adam is eager to share the enjoyment of his craft with as many people as possible- "the more I play, the more I want to play; the better I want to get." His enthusiasm, like his grin, is enticingly contagious.

Adam began performing at college events aged 16 as a casual distraction from his desire to be a professional golfer. When injury sabotaged this dream, he found a new focus in music, an endeavour which held less rules and boundaries than his previous path, but one to which he found he could devote just as much focus.
"For me, music is all about sharing energy with an audience; not being pretty around the edges, but going out there and capturing a moment with other people." Energy is the operative word. Laid back and seemingly shy offstage, when it comes to performing, Adam explodes with a vehemence and intent that is hard to avoid being swept up within. Whether alone with a guitar and a stomp box or accompanied by a band, his rhythm- led playing and soaring vocals envelope his audience, creating a shared revelry between crowd and performer.

His confidence and reputation steadily grew and after a handful of self released EP's and regional radio appearances, Jonathan Joseph (David Sanborn, Randy Brecker, Ricky Martin) and Wendy Stoker (Joss Stone, Alexandra Burke) encouraged him to join their Mama Stone's artist development program in Exeter in 2008. As a resident musician and events manager, Adam further refined his skills as a musician and performer, as well as organising the acts who came to perform at the Mama Stone's music venue. Learning from experienced industry professionals such as Jonathan and Wendy prepared Adam for the intimidating experience of supporting Joss Stone on her UK tour in 2009, a challenge that helped to lift his performance up a notch, with the knowledge that a partisan crowd awaited him, expecting great things.

Adam's wide reaching appeal is indicative of the variety of genres he grew up listening to; Michael Jackson, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Blur and Oasis informed his early music experiences, and in his own sound can be heard the influences of artists as diverse as Jeff Buckley and Muse. His music is also soaked in the beach lifestyle that the South West of England is renowned for, and Adam recognises this as a significant influence. When asked where he would like to tour, he jokingly remarks, "ideally places where there's a good surfing beach! I'm not that good at surfing, but I love the environment, the feeling of being in the water. Also the fact that it sometimes scares me. I like wondering whether I'm going to stack it!"

Adam's 4 track EP, recorded with Jonathan Joseph, recreates the energy of Adam's live sound, and is likely to appeal to a vast audience who will recognise the passion and conviction he puts into his songwriting. He played a number of mini tours and festivals in 2011 and was very well received.
