DESCRIPTION:
A quick experiment playing around with the mic placement. I just learned this song today so I am still figuring out what I want to do with the arrangement and bridge, etc. But I really like this song and I felt this take didn't come out too badly. I learned this song from fiddler/singer Eric Merrill off his very fine album The Western Star and it is highly influenced by his version. As far as I know this is an old traditional ballad first collected in the 1800s, though it feels very new and fresh to me. I will post some more polished songs soon.
