The Pomeroy Overdrive and Boost combines Germanium and Silicon overdrive (6 modes) with a 2-stage 24dB clean boost. You can engage the boost or overdrive independently and use both (boost follows OD) if you wish. That sort of flexibility, coupled with the Pomeroy's clipping options and uber-tough build, makes this one desirable pedal. You'll find that the Germanium position (1st) offers cool old-school grain and grind, while the remaining 5 positions give you varied stages of loudness and attack (Silicon and Op-Amp). There's an Insert Jack onboard too, for effects insert between the overdrive and boost. The Pomeroy looks and sounds great and will probably outlast all of us!
