Willie Brown, born William Thomas Trenell Brown, another product of the Lynwood/ Compton, California area, is an up and coming artist who has been noted for his multifaceted talents as a rap artist, lyricist, musician, producer, and songwriter for newly formed Four Dott Music of which “Willie B” is Predsident and CEO. At the tender age of 13, Willie discovered his passion for writing and composing music being heavily influenced by his father Cedric, who introduced and instructed Willie in playing piano. Also having Willie to accompany him to church and singing for the church’s choir and for various choirs outside of their home of worship.
Known for his mixture of West Coast and East Coast rap styles as well as interjecting samples from a myriad of musical genres (including TV themes and motion picture scores), “Willie B” has captured a universal audience with his ability to present thought provoking messages through his methodical application of lyrical prowess while commanding your attention with his mesmerizing, hypnotic recipe of applying the right beats in the right places at the right time. Being influenced by such artist as Stevie Wonder, The Dramatics, jazz vocalist Kurt Elling, Jay-Z, Nas, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Just Blaze, and others, “Willie B” possesses the willingness to take his music to places that most hip hop artists are afraid to.
“There is a lot of my life in my compositions.
