DESCRIPTION: King of the Savoy and the first King of Swing - William Chick Webb. Written by Edgar Sampson, a saxophonists in Webb's orchestra and named for Harlem's Savoy Ballroom. Although Webb and Benny Goodman are often credited with writing this hit tune. Webb's version reached Number four on the music charts but this was outsold by Goodman's version.
