PUBLISHED:  Jan 29, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
This delightful song was composed by Carl Zeller (1842-1898), noted for his operettas, plays, songs, and choral works. At age 11 Zeller joined the famed Wiener Sangerknaben (the Vienna Choir Boys), later studying at the Imperial Chapel in Vienna. Zeller's teacher in harmony, counterpoint and composition was Simon Sechter, who also taught Anton Bruckner. For a time the composer studied law at Vienna University. Zeller's biggest success was Der Vogelhandler in 1891. Der Kellermeister was completed by Johannes Brandt in 1901.

Performed upon my Hohner Ventura IV Musette accordion, a 4/5 reed instrument with LMMM configuration. The sheet music is from Edition Melodie, Anton Peterer Music and Books in Zurich, Switzerland. This collection of songs has been arranged by Herwig Peychaer.
