The world premiere of My Romance (workshop production) starring Vickie van Dyke (Maggie Porter), Thomas Wade (Drake Dumas), Katie Boylan (Emily Sweet) and Ian Jutsun (Danny Valentine) with Kelly Stronach as Musical Director and Jennifer Toews as Narrator was presented on April 24, 2016 in Guelph, Ontario and viewed by a select audience in an intimate setting.

My Romance takes place in The Tangerine Club (a fictional nightclub in a timeless era) both on “stage” and backstage. Maggie, Drake and Danny are entertainers at the club, with Maggie's assistant Emily backstage. We soon learn that, although they have worked together for many years and always just been friends, Maggie secretly yearns for Drake, in spite of his obvious buffoonery. Emily is star-struck by Drake and yearns for him too, at the same time yearning for her own career on stage. Danny can see past Emily's shy exterior and yearns for her, although she has always just been his pal. And Drake simply yearns for another mirror.
