DESCRIPTION:
This Video was filmed sometime in either 1992 or 1993 in our rehearsal space by the Reno Aeroport.
It is the only known video footage in existence of our little band that never really got off the ground.
At the time we were called THE VERMICIOUS KNIDS... I think. We may have also been called MY WILD LOVE. Maybe we changed the name from MWL to VK.
Either way, the band consisted of Wayne Mayfield as the Singer, Colin Pantell as the Drummer, Zac Damon as the Guitarist and Dustin Lane as the Bass Player.
This was obviously filmed on VHS so the sound and the video are kinda wacky.
But so what.
This video is supercool for a handful of different reasons, the main reason being that my good buddy Wayne Mayfield is no longer with us. He passed away on August 17th of 2008.
That reason alone makes this video completely and totally priceless. We may have not been very good back then, but for what it's worth I am super proud to have been in this video with these other fellas. Colin now lives in North Carolina and has a couple of kids and is with the same girl that he was with when this video was filmed. Zac is in Reno, having released records in his bands MIRACLE DRUGS, ZOINKS!, BIG IN JAPAN and also with Screaching Weasel. And I am in Los Angeles, making films and doing a little bit of music on the side as well.
So watch this video and laugh a little bit at us, because it is kinda funny. We were young and clueless and that felt totally great. Maybe one of these days I will be able to get that feeling back.
