DESCRIPTION: Mariachi Aztlán from UTRGV has been a pivotal part of the history of the Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza. For years, they have set the standard for college/university mariachi music programs throughout the nation. They have positioned themselves as the best of the very best and have demonstrated leadership and excellence in performances and music festivals throughout the U.S. Much of their success is attributed to the leadership of Dr. Dahlia Guerra (VP) and Francisco Loera (Director) and the direction, tools and guidance they’ve provided students year after year.
