Marvin Cotterell sings "Try Walking In My Shoes". I have never been more artistically satisfied with a song! If "Try Walking In My Shoes" doesn't literally SCREAM the words "Northern Soul" out to you, then I'm living in a parallel universe. Everything about this wonderful new song suggests the magic and energy of the era that I fell in love with as a teenager. Marvin and I co-wrote this wonderful song which sounds like a classic Wigan Casino floorfiller, the type that made the entire club run onto the floor from every nook and cranny. The track is from my album "Northern Soul 2008". This is the sequel to our album "Northern Soul 2007".The 2008 album consists of twenty four 2008 songs by soul and disco legends. Each song has an accompanying video of the artist performing it the studio and at outside locations. The DVD has four extra bonus tracks too. The work that we put into this project is quite staggering, trying to break down the barriers between the older Northern Soul stalwarts and a new generation, who need younger acts, who still produce the same vibe we all witnessed forty years ago for Motown's glory years.
