River City Folk with Tom May/ David Mallett, guest - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 06, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
This was the very first "River City Folk" television broadcast, recorded in 1994. The set was primitive at this point, and I am less than comfortable on camera. It is great, however, to hear David's songs from the album "This Town", which had recently been released on Vanguard Records.

David remains one of my favorite songwriter/poets/singers. He continues to write new songs and perform primarily throughout North America, often with his bass player sidekick Mike Burd at his side. www.davidmallett.com

David's "Garden Song", which we perform together at the end of this program, has become one of the best loved peoples songs of our time, sung at festivals and campfires and wherever folks gather and share real music.

The "River City Folk" television program was produced in 1994-95 by Tom May, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and Branson, Missouri's Americana Cable Network.
It was shown throughout the U.S. on cable networks and on PBS TV in Nebraska.

The radio broadcast of "River City Folk" was the inspiration for the television broadcast , and continues today, now in its 28th year. Check local listings for times, or

Tom May also performs concerts regularly and tours, as well as producing the national "River City Folk"
radio broadcast and "Winterfolk" ( Portland, Oregon's largest annual folk music event" )
