Charter Oak Project Part 32 : Memorial Middle School, Middlefield - Video
PUBLISHED: Jun 05, 2014
DESCRIPTION: These two White Oaks, planted in the rear courtyard of the Memorial Middle school in Middlefield, were part of the group of second generation Charter Oak saplings offered to every town in Connecticut by the State Forestry Bureau in 1976 to commemorate the National Bicentennial. Since some towns didn't accept their designated sapling other towns took two. All the acorns for the 1976 trees were collected from either the Foot Guard Oak or the Hoadley Oak, both found in Bushnell Park, Hartford, Connecticut
