Toronto Urban Roots Festival, Highlights from Friday July 4-2014 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 05, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
Missed this one last year so I was definitely looking forward to the second edition. Went down yesterday and found it to be well organized, efficient (everything started on time), and in addition to great sound, there was no sound bleed. Critical at these outdoor events. The music was diverse and (as they say) and offered something for everyone - from the plaintive alt country of Tift Merritt, to the youthful punk pop of Born Ruffians, to the great blues of Gary Clark Jr. and London Souls. The festival is definitely worth checking out. It continues tonight and tomorrow at Fort York and is complimented by some late night club gigs. Check the website- http://torontourbanrootsfest.com/. This reel includes performances by Tift Merritt, London Souls, Gary Clark Jr., Andrew Bird, The Waco Brothers, and Young Ruffians.
