Tim Bran was a founding member of the band Dreadzone in 1991. They went on to sign to Creation Records and then Virgin Records and released five albums, including Second Light, Sound and 360 degrees. The biggest selling single was Little Britain in 1995 and the most successful album was Second Light in the same year.

The Subsonar album is the first solo release from Tim Bran since departing the Dread ranks in 2001.

Joining Tim on vocals are Brother Culture (Manasseh Sound System), Sara Davis (Melk) and Aki Omori (Freaky Realistic). All the music has been created by Tim.

The album will be released through Liquid Sound, a label owned by Youth (Producer of The Verve, Embrace, Primal Scream, Kubb, Cord, Blackbud, member of Killing Joke & the Orb) and is a subsidiary of Big Life Records.

"When I began the Subsonar album, I wasn't sure what I would sound like on my own. As I progressed through it, I realised that there was bits of the Dreadzone sound in there (which I had started with Greg Roberts in 1991 and been a part of for 11 years) but I discovered new sounds and textures - even down to me singing on a couple of tracks and some all-new Subsonar-sounds! I hope some of the Dreadzone fans can follow me on into the Subsonar sound" says Tim about the project.

Subsonar has been appearing live at Youth's successful dub soundclash at the JAMM in Brixton. With Brother Culture on vocals and Tim Bran boards, the Subsonar sound has been blasting its way out of the speakers to a very receptive audience. Further details of upcoming gigs will appear on this page.

The tunes featured here on MySpace are selected from the Subsonar album, called 'Cool Accident' by Subsonar, now available in the shops and on Itunes!
