DESCRIPTION:
From the sleeve notes - Tom collected this didactic gem at the All Ireland Fleadh in Buncrana, 1980 from Paddy Tunney. Paddy was in great proselytising form that night and had just cleared the room of what he considered a viper's nest of contemporary singers and was raring to go . Comandeering an unsuspecting bedroom, a monumental session of traditional song and classic ballad followed. How this crept in, Tom can't remember. The tune which is played as the instrumental both in the middle and the end of the song is a Scottish tune known as "The Bold Deserter".
