MR JAMES BRIGHT - Big Sounds From Small Spaces [TAPCLB012] - OUT NOW!

This is the debut album from the young and upcoming super-songster, Mr James Bright. Available on CD and digital download worldwide.

'The man's gift for composition is evident from the start. 4/5 ' Big Issue

Mr.James Bright is a guitar wielding song-maestro. He knows a tune when he feels one, and he has the unique ability to spread the goodness directly to your music nostrils. Having played with various musical outfits (MeOne, Soup, Milo Fitzpatrick and Jack Wylie of the Portico Quartet) in his local land of Winchestershire , he first took a solo dive in 2007. Since then he's been hangin' with the Tape Club Records collective, writing and releasing dynamite folk-funk along the way. He's been played on Radio 1 by Huw Stephens and Rob Da Bank, been in magazines and sported the loudest sock/sneaker combo you could ever care to imagine.

Recently James has been buried deeply in the eary midsts of the studio, working with Tape Club's own Gillan McGlaughlin, P*Nut (Amy Winehouse, Wiley, Faithless) and Fear of Theydon (It Hugs Back,Grand National) from the Sunday Best team. The Frankenmusic-monster that these guys have helped James to create is beyond alarming. A collection of rhytmically vibrant and aurally spanktastic tracks has been born - the true sound of Mr.Bright is here. It's big, it's bold and it's beautiful!

Keep an eye out for the venues near you, this boy is gonna be there swinging his pants and if you've got time to pop on your wellies and come on down -you'll be wetting yours at the same time. New releases are always around the corner - look out for a full length album and a special treat in June!

Quotes:

Radio 1's ROB DA BANK -

"Watch out world, mr james bright is about to invade you radio and it'll never be the same again."

Electronic Pop Idol DAVID SUGAR -

"I quite simply love your record. It's as if Alt-Country originated from Winchester. I'm a full paid up member of Tape Club Boy!"

Radio 1's HUW STEPHENS

"I Wish You Would is Brilliant"

Radiator Zine Editor ALEX HORNSBY

"you know that song 'gone'? that you done. well, it's FUCKIN BRILLIANT"

Drowned In Sound 'Single of the week'

'Shut Up Shop' on the other hand, is low-slung wibble funk not a million miles from Phoenix circa 'Iā€™m An Actor' ā€“ that is, totally brills, and totally infectious

Timeout (LONDON) Magazine 'the accomplished, rhythmically driven and fx-treated songcraft of Bright, who's clearly had his ears turned by grime and R&B'

Plus reviews of other Records ive worked on (sung/played/written/produced)

TOM ENO - BARNSTORMER

TOM ENO- Finding it really really hard to describe this, so we may just have to invent a new genre: bossanova-spanish-acoustic-but-not-quite-cause-at-times-its-electro-folk-pop-rock? Like Beck, with a thousand more influences than he already has. Really darn interesting. Prince or MGMT or Kings of Convenience at times or even the Beta Band. In fact Mr Eno could well be the bossa nova Beta Band- what a guy!! (Bugbear)

On this Record James Sounds like the 'Argentinean Paul Simon' Quoted Jool's Mum :-)
