DESCRIPTION:
I'm 5 weeks behind and it's becoming increasingly clear to me that with my schedule, catching up isn't really an option. So, instead of keeping with the "week" pretense, I'm going to rename these "episode", do my best to get one up weekly, and plan to do 52 of them, spilling over into 2014. I feel that I actually get alot of practicing for these things, so rather than just take half an hour to bust one out every week, I'd rather take a few hours every week and a half and force myself to get better, since that's what this whole thing was about anyway. Beside, everyone knows musicians suck at being punctual.

Also, sorry for the weird video coloring. I film this with my iPhone using Filmic Pro and I forgot to turn on airplane mode during filming, got a call without noticing, and had all my settings get borked. The resulting video was hideously dark and yellow; I corrected as best as I could but, just like with audio recording, shit in is shit out.

Backstory:

I've decided to do a musical self improvement project. As I've taken on more and more production work, I've begun feeling like I'm losing touch with my core competencies as a performer and I'd really like both re-establish and improve that. I've also never been a particularly confident or facile singer and I really want to improve my vocal abilities. Simply sitting down to practice always seems to get away from me so I've decided to create some sort of accountability for myself.

I'm going to be recording and posting a performance of some sort every week of 2013 in the hopes that the ones at the end are going to be WAAAAAAAY better than the ones at the beginning. I'm not allowing myself to lean on the engineering crutch like I have in the past, so they will all be one take, no editing, no click track, and no tuning. Warts and all.
