John has a long, successful musical pedigree, signed to major labels with his groundbreaking Los Angeles power trio Dead, White and Blue (MCA Records, Virgin Music and Triple X Records) and recorded with legendary record producers; Rick Parashar, Steve Gursky, Jimi "Haywire" Mayweather and Barry Conley at state of the art facilities all over the country such as London Bridge, Lion and Fox, Grand Master, Track Record, Sound City, Paramount and Delicious Vinyl to name a few.

His main musical aspiration is to write meaningful songs first and foremost but loves performing as well. This Virginia native taps deep into his early childhood violin and saxophone training as well as the wide variety of music he discovered growing up (Charlie Parker to Mozart, Hank Sr to Elvis, Muddy Waters to Black Flag) to create the soulful guitar riffs and powerful melodies that are the groundwork for his foot stomping rockers and sugary sweet ballads. Lyrically, he comes from an honest, heartfelt place and isn’t afraid to defy convention. John is all about inspiring and connecting with the audience and the listener.

His band, The Gypsy Sons, is an American rock band from the Washington, DC metropolitan area with roots in rock, blues, and country. They have been compared to Aerosmith, The Beatles and The Eagles thanks to their diverse musical style and trade-offs in vocal duties. They released their 10 song rock and roll opus and music video, “Whiskey and the Devil” on Spectra Records in 2013.

Spectra Music Group just released The Gypsy Sons "Wash" worldwide in April 2016 which was produced by Thomas Johansen in Los Angeles and mastered it at Metropolis in the UK. Looking to expand his brand to a much larger worldwide audience, he recorded Aerosmith's "Dream On" with producer Scott Spellbring, recorded Grammy-nominated Sam Tate's instant classic "Thanks To You," a tribute to our American soldiers, in Nashville, TN with Pat Holt, and also has two of his own original compositions, "Sweet Soul Sunshine" and "Right Kind Of Lovin,'" produced by Gary Tharp in Los Angeles, featured in the Magnolia Pictures action/thriller “Deadfall” starring Eric Bana, Olivia Wilde, Charlie Hunnam, Sissy Spacek and his all time favorite songwriter/actor, Kris Kristofferson.

John's high-energy and versatility shines through live sharing the stage with a very wide variety of artists over the years such as Pinetop Perkins, Steel Panther, Johnny Winter, Blackfoot, Armored Saint, Prong, Chuck Brown, Dream Theater, Reverend Horton Heat, The Dwarves, Beautiful Creatures, Green Jello, Weezer, Slayer, Body Count, Jesus Lizard, Mule, Tool, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine, Helmet, Molly Hatchet, Dokken, Bullet Boys and The Outlaws as well as country artists Chris Young and Jason Aldean.

John is an ardent supporter of Able Forces and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and has helped to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars donating his time, talent and friendship with many of America's bravest and friends in need.
