'Transmission': Econ Gritter live at the Masonic Hall Milford Haven 30-12-1988 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 28, 2008
DESCRIPTION:
At last, and for the first time on You Tube (drum roll and trumpet fanfare), the legendary Welsh pop group from Hakin in Milford Haven, the wierd and wonderful Econ Gritter filmed playing the Joy Division classic 'Transmission' at their final gig. Shot just after their return from their infamous and disastrous tour of South East Asia and a support slot on the Bros world tour, Finny, Kirdy, Timoth and the Coombes boys, Steve and Gareth, were joined by guest guitarist Illtyd 'bird bandit' Barrett, a founder member of the legendary Hakin punk combo 'Personality Defects' and one time guest bassist with the awesome Perth funsters and John Peel favourites 'Turkey Bones and the Wild Dogs'. Despite constant taunts of "You're rubbish and you know you are" and "Kieran where's your driving licence?" the Gritter boys played a storming set much of which will be appearing here in the near future. In the crowd Gritter fans will be able to pick out Dominic Barrett (now languishing in a Burmese jail for drug trafficking), Andrew Berry (now a real life doctor), Shaun Bowie, Jon Smith and a few others including a boy from Johnston (called Stuart I think) in a black leather jacket who used to go out with Laura Barney and who has since passed away.
