Econ Gritter: 'New Rose' live 30-12-1988 at the Masonic Hall Milford Haven - Video

DESCRIPTION:
Those legendary Hakin pop wierdos are at it once again blowing the balls off their audience with a mighty rendition of the Damned classic 'New Rose'. This was the rip-roaring opening number of what turned out to be the Gritter boys' last ever gig in front of a capacity crowd of 400 fans. Well, I say 'fans' but most were there cos there was bugger all else to do in Milford apart from hang around in bus shelters and abuse passers by or attach bangers to cats tails before placing said cat on the window sill of the local police station. In fact Econ Gritter put on the gig as a distraction in order to save a number of cats known to have been targeted for such cruelty by local boot boys. Unfortunately, denied their moment of fun with the cats, the same toughs turned their attentions to the Gritter boys themselves. The capacity crowd can also be explained by the fact that Econ Gritter were the only band around at the time. Today you can knock on any door in Pembrokeshire and find some Tom, Dick or Harry from some local ban or other. In the old days Gritter were the only alternative to local cabaret band 'Shag Connors and the Carrot Crunchers'. Enough said.
