John—he was a rebel of whom Esaias spoke
He came preaching repentance, and baptizing folks.
Leather and camel hair was how the rebel dressed.
He looked like a wild man, in from the wilderness.

Down by the riverside people gathered all around.
John spotted Jesus, saw glory there abound.
Baptize me John, Jesus did command
John saw the spirit of GOD, descend on the son of man.

Prepare ye the way

Narrow is the path
Straight is the gate
Few there be that find it, few will understand.
The kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

John —he was a rebel against the Pharisees,
Against the government, against the Sadducees
You’re just a den of vipers, is what the rebel said
