DESCRIPTION:
In the summer of 2011 the Playing For Change Band was invited to perform at Jazz Fest in New Orleans. While we were in town long-time friend of the project, Jimmy Buffett, invited us to a jam session on the roof of Margaritaville that rocked into the wee hours of the morning. The PFC Band kicked off the night with this tribute to the people of Japan who have been affected by this past spring's Tsunami.

It's pretty amazing how music can fly in the face of tragedy to heal and sooth people, what do you think?

2011年の夏、ニューオーリンズのジャズフェスタに参加していたPFCバンドは、長い間PFCのプロジェクトに関わっているJimmy Buffetに誘われ、マルガリータビルというレストランの屋上で、深夜のジャムセッションを行いました。その始まりに、昨春の津波で影響を受けた方々に向けて歌ったトリビュートの様子です。

Playing For Change (PFC) is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. The primary focus of PFC is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos called Songs Around The World. Creating these videos motivated PFC to form the Playing For Change Band—a tangible, traveling representation of its mission, featuring musicians met along their journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation—a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to building music and art schools for children around the world.
