DESCRIPTION:
We learned this midwestern fiddle tune by way of folklorist Rachel Reynolds Lustre and fiddling legend Dwight Lamb! Willi squawks on a 'hillbilly hotrod' fiddle with a handcarved headstock. Allison plays a custom Brooks Mastin banjo.

"Old Ties" is Allison Williams (of the Forge Mountain Diggers) and Willi Goehring. They live in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where they host a monthly square dance and co-host an oldtime jam with members of the Ozark Highballers and the Red Star Rounders. Allison owns May Bell Music, a store for vintage instruments, lessons, and repair, and Willi is finishing an MFA in poetry.
