DESCRIPTION:
I was invited to play at the Hard Rock Cafe in Lahaina, Maui, HI on May 12 for a benefit for the Ingram Family, whose youngest son, 13 month old Trek Atlas, was diagnosed with Niemann Pick Type A, a dreadfully rare and incurable genetic disease. My wife Liz and I immediately felt connected with the family, who had declared "Footprints" their family song and so we flew ourselves to Maui to attend the beneift, which raised awareness for the disease and also raised funds to help the Ingrams realize their dreams of traveling the world as a family of five before Trek was taken away from them before his time on June 21 2012, just five weeks later. Trek may not have lived a long life, but we certainly believe he lived a happy, comfortable, and eventful one! In the video you can see Chelsea Ingram, Trek's mother, in the green dress as she carries him on the dance floor which gradually fills with family, friends and their children as they dance along to an up-beat version of "Footprints."
