THE TECHNICOLOR DREAM MACHINE (Stop Looking Records)

Look its like this - the aptly titled ‘the techno colour dream machine’ is a 39 minute hyper drive with a featured cast of dastardly ne’er do well double agents, twanging guitars, seismic surf savouries, superheroes, fried electro mind warping reactions, spiked 50’s bubblegum pop (as on the pulse racing effervescence of ‘M.P.O.G.’ and the irresistibly fetching and shimmering candy coated harmony drenched ‘bring back all my smiles’ - think Jan and Dean emitting razor effects pedalled love sick notes from the dark side of the cosmos), intergalactic love affairs, sci -fi boogaloo glam tinged boogie (especially on the cutely dimpled with dinky toy keys ‘mr x and the girl with no face‘), b-movie mirages and lashings of effervescent turbo charged astro action.- LOSING TODAY

he UK quartet from Sunderland known as The Bubble Project is reminiscent of the ‘80s cartoon "Kidd Video." Each episode began with the four eager musicians performing in a warehouse when suddenly they were transported into an animated realm where they would have to be “musical slaves” forever. The Bubble Project’s latest effort, The Technicolor Dream Machine takes listeners on an animated adventure filled with love, hope, villains, and danger where their melodious, often distorted brew of music beautifully captures the fables they are singing about.-URB Magazine

the supremely enterprising Bubble Project who offer up an agreeably discordant mélange of skew-whiff surf rock, fruity electro and up-and-at-‘em indie/pop. Slanty melodies abound and whole affair is one of the most colourful releases I’ve heard in a long, long time. Champion stuff.- The Crack

Although the sleeve recalls 'Sgt Peppers.' on even stronger acid, there's nothing populist about these fuzz heavy, three lab chord alchemists tales of sexy lab asistants and purdy aliens. Yet, if you're a fan of Man or Astroman? or The Flaming Lips more esoteric works, there's much to enjoy here. 'Bring Back My Smiles' is like the pretty songs wrote to break up the onslaught, while they've scooped the gong for song title of the year with 'Planet Thunderfuck'

8/10-NME

I think they sound jolly good fun, catchy & of a spirited quality all executed in a playful schizo college rock way. And the Digipak design is sublime, proper mad collage that is a completely inspiring piece of gibbering sonic art all of it's own! The sweetest picture on the actual CD which makes everyone go "Awwwww!" Nice work lads. 'The Technicolour Dream Machine' is maybenot a purchase for the po-faced music snob however one for the fun loving indie kids definitely!-Norman Records
